Martial Arts Experience and Training

• Kaidensho with the title of Renshi, 2003. This is a full license to teach, stating he has mastered Danzan Ryu and authorizing him to teach the entire system of Danzan Ryu.

• AJJF BOARD OF MANAGERS: National Manger of Communications, 1997 to Present; active member since 1987.

• Established the Shanti Jujitsu Dojo and Yoga Center in San Jose, California; 2000. He and his staff provide training and conditioning in jujitsu and yoga. Mr. Carl has trained in and taught meditation since 1974 and Qigong since 1997. He developed the Exercises for Health/Qigong course in 1997. He also practices Okazaki Restoration Therapy on-site.

• Taught jujitsu at the Kodai No Bushido Dojo, 1991-2000. His background in hatha yoga, pranayama and Seifukujitsu also led to the incorporation of Qigong and Exercises For Health into the dojo curriculum in 1997.

• As a balance to the martial arts, Mr. Carl began studying Ikebana in 1995 with Riji Kika Shibata. He currently holds the rank of Ikkyu from the Sogetsu School.
