Shinyo No Maki

Don't ask, don't tell

In the following page the arts of Shinyo No Maki are described in detail, but still the Jujitsuka should keep it secret. So it is plain that everything is not given out, and the most important processes are to be learned direct from the Sensei. Hence it follows that she who begins to practice this after a theoretical study of it and without a Sensei will come to harm. The student should have the following qualifications:

• He should perform his duties and be free of personal motives and attachments.
• She should have perfected herself in morals and ethics (see the Esoteric Teaching of Prof. Henry S. Okazaki), and cultivated the intellect. She should have conquered anger.
• He should be entirely devoted to his Sensei, God and country.

This is a warning to keep the knowledge secret. Do not reveal it to just everybody. It is a vidya, a knowledge - something not meant for everyone unless they are ready. When the student comes to the teacher, the teacher judges whether he is ready. Moreover, this is not something for idle broadcasting. It is just for yourself. Your practice should not be revealed to anybody else as they will not understand. It is not for a public demonstration.
