What is Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is called the yoga for the householder. It is designed to help the average person that wants to live a conscious life while learning to deal with every day experiences.

Kundalini Yoga was a secret science practiced in the caves of India. This form of yoga was kept a secret because it is very powerful. In 1969, Yogi Bhajan came to the United States to teach this science to the open public and create teachers. As we enter the Aquarian Age, Yogi Bhajan knew these tools were needed by the public.

Kundalini Yoga is designed for people who want to live a conscious lifestyle while learning to consciously deal with everyday challenges. Kundalini Yoga is different than Hatha yoga, because in Kundalini Yoga the effects come more quickly. This yoga has so much power because it is for people who have busy lives and do not have much time to meditate for hours each day. Each exercise has enough power to effect someone in a short amount of time. In Hatha yoga those effects take longer.

Kundalini means the highest potential of each person. When the kundalini is raised, life is lived to the fullest. In each of us lies our potential, our kundalini. It remains dormant until we raise it mostly through yoga, but also through other conscious ways of living. When the kundalini has risen one feels fully alive while living. Kundalini yoga also brings awareness. Through awareness we see the true reality. We see through all the illusions around us. Yoga works on connecting an individual to the infinite.

Kundalini yoga is for everyone. It is a science that uses many, many tools to help you live consciously. These tools are breath, postures, relaxation, meditation, and mantras. Mantras are words that when spoken touch certain meridian points in the upper palate that create certain effects on the mind, body, spirit and even on the universe! Mantras are like affirmations, but more powerful. Kundalini yoga can be a lifestyle. For instance, there are yogic ways to wake up in the morning, yogic ways to eat, walk, stand, and much more. In Kundalini yoga classes, one learns these techniques as well as many different yoga exercises.

Yoga works on all aspects. Yoga works on the mental, physical, and spiritual. Yoga will give your body the vitality it needs to serve you. It will give you the mind consciousness to control your thoughts and emotions, habits and behaviors. Yoga allows you to experience your Inner Self. Your Inner Self is not the self that says, "I am this, I am that. I am tall or I am small." Your Inner Self is the creative energy and light inside you. Yoga works on reconnecting you to your Self.

Anyone can attend a Kundalini yoga class. You do not have to be a prezel to do this yoga. Each class will consist of different yoga sets. All levels are welcome to each class. There are no advanced and beginner students in Kundalini Yoga. Everyone is the same.

Yoga is very powerful. To maintain the power, it must be regularily practiced. To experience the Kundalini yoga experience, try attending several classes. The affect will not come to you like a flash of lightening. Affects will come to you and grow with you. It is a process. Try it out!
